Back to school at Ronald Harvey:
The first couple weeks of school have gone by so fast! We’ve already had two assemblies, as well as a teacher versus grade six soccer game. The first assembly we had was Mr. Hauptman welcoming the new students and teachers to Ronald Harvey. After the assembly we all walked to the big field to watch the grade six take on the teachers in an outdoor soccer game. It was so fun watching them and cheering them on!
The second assembly we had was with World Champion Hoop Dancer Dallas Arcand. The same week of the assembly Dallas Arcand taught all our classes how to hoop dance. It was a great experience.
The Terry Fox run was around 2 weeks after Dallas Arcand came to our school. The top ten girls and the top ten boys in the run from each grade qualified for districts, which was on Wednesday, September 27. Everyone who qualified went to the Cross Country Districts at Hillgrove. They all did so well! One boy in grade 6 got 1st place and 2 students in grade 5 got 2nd place. I can't wait for more events this year!
